Sr. D gave me this beautiful bouquet of roses for Valentine's Day! Awww, isn't he sweet?!

This is our Area Boy Scout Headquarters. I had to go there recently to get a few things at the shop and also to get a certain picture. There is a wall at the stairs there with the names of all Eagle Scouts from the Area engraved on it.

I haven't been back to the Scout headquarters since the boys earned their Eagle, so I wanted a picture of their names.
There they are!

Emily and I had a fun time at the mall recently. She stopped at a booth to let a lady curl her hair with a fancy-dancy curling iron. She loved it and the pressure was on to buy, but I stayed strong and stingy. :)

Pretty girl!

I had to get this for the record. Our sweet cat submits.

For Spring Break we went out on the sailboat and stayed overnight.

The bay is only about 10-15 feet deep. Doesn't look like it though, huh?

The first day was beautiful but cold.

This is the "beautiful, tropical" Redfish Island where we anchored for the night. It's a man-made wall that helps break the wakes of the huge ships sailing through the Houston Ship Channel.

Down at the back of the boat near the water is a little landing. We all enjoyed being down there, as the sun was on us and the wind was blocked. Spencer enjoyed an afternoon snooze, and unfortunately, his cell phone slipped into the depths, never to be seen again.

Another day of Spring Break we found a horse trail ranch place about an hour away and went for a trail ride.

First we got our fashionable helmets on and then they matched us with our horses.

Off we went and the boys had a blast and bonded with their beasts immediately.

The trail was beautiful. Having almost never been on a horse before, I was a little nervous the whole time, and even Emily, who canters and jumps on a horse, was scared because of the hills and walking so close to ledges throughout the trail. So Sr. D and the boys weren't able to charge their steeds as they wished. Sorry guys! But they were very nice about it.

Our trail guide took our picture. Sr. D's horse kept nipping at Emily's horse during this picture session and so the picture looks nicer than it felt for some. Also, Spencer's horse didn't want to pose, it wanted to keep going. It was a fiesty guy that had an extra rope to keep its head down because it tended to rear. Spencer loved its spirit and probably would have loved to unleash. :)

Taylor went to a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant with his two friends and took the Blazin' Challenge. On the website they say:
Think you have what it takes to succeed at the Blazin’® Challenge? We have one question for you. What’s your pain threshold?
Have you ever slept on a bed of nails? Walked on burning coals?
All child’s play compared to the Blazin’ Challenge.
Simply eat a mere 12 wings prepared with our signature Blazin’® sauce in six minutes and you win. Easier said than done, of course.
Well, Spencer and a friend had done it just the week before. (Sorry, no pictures for that.) So Taylor was up for the challenge. The timer stopped them at 5 min. and they weren't done, but since the timer messed up, they still got the prize: a T-shirt saying they won the Blazin' Challenge. It's like that TV show "Man vs Food" which Sr. D likes to watch occasionally. :)

They said the sauce really burned and it was tough. They bought a gallon of milk and each drank 1/2 of it.

And finally, Taylor got braces on Tuesday, March 23! They are the clear kind and he's in pain.
